RIP Robert B. Parker

It's a sad day for fans of hard-boiled detective Spenser, second-chance cop Jesse Stone, private investigator Sunny Randall, and countless other wonderful characters. Prolific author Robert B. Parker passed away on January 18th, fittingly enough, while working at his desk. Whether you're a fan already or have never tried him, check out one of his books and celebrate this beloved author.

Tuesday Updates

Our new Internet Policy goes into effect today -- if you have any outstanding fines on your library card, you will not be able to access the Internet until you have cleared them. This applies no matter how great or small your fines are: if you owe thirty-five cents, you have to clear it before you can access the Internet. If you owe nine dollars, same thing.

Tax Forms Are Here (Yay!)

We now have state and federal tax forms at all our branches. These are free, as long as supplies last. Please only take what you need!

System Closed on Monday

The Twin Lakes Library System will be closed on Monday January 18 in recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day. All branches will open again on Tuesday.

A Commentary on Censorship

Major Change Coming To Our Internet Policy

Effective Tuesday January 19th, we're going to make a change to our Internet Policy. Effective that date, you will have to clear your Fines before you can use your library card to access the Internet. If your card is free of fines, you may log on as usual -- but if you owe anything (whether it's 10 cents or $9.00), you'll have to clear it before accessing the Internet.

Story Time Day!

It's Tuesday so it must be Story Time day at the Mary Vinson Memorial Library! Stop by at either 10:30 or 3:30 to see what wonders Anne Moore and Amy Nix have crafted for your little ones! Fun will be had by all! For ages 8 months to 80 years!
